“Lunch and Learn: Serpentinite with Yesenia Arroyo”

Is Staten Island the real emerald city? Join geologist Yesenia Arroyo to learn more about the unique greenish rock known as serpentinite. This metamorphic rock underlies a large part of this borough and helps makes up the highest elevation of any natural feature in NYC. In fact, it is the highest point on the US eastern seaboard south of Maine.
